BEST ANSWER: Make sure that you take the clear plastic shrink wrap off of the battery to the pen, then it should automatically turn on when you connect the tablet to the USB drive and touch the pen (with battery properly installed) to the drawing area of the tablet. This is a living website, meaning it is a constant work in progress. Mainly because manufacturers can pull a particular model from the market and replace it with a newer model. This happens with technology. Anything you purchase today will most likely be out of date within days or months, sometimes sooner. Thus, you will find me updating the site from time to time, removing obsolete graphics tablets and replacing them with newer versions.
The tablets on this page range from around $30 – $300. Although keep in mind, manufacturers and sellers can change their prices at any given time. Prices can also change when a graphics tablet becomes obsolete. In other words, the manufacturer no longer makes or supports the tablet. For instance, The Wacom Intuos Pen and Touch CTL480 model graphics tablets were once well under $100, but now they are sold by Wacom and/or other sellers for well over $100.
Overall you will find the following on this page:
- As said, a list of Graphics Tablets generally sold under for around $30 – $300 around the web.
- The tablets will be listed by brand and then by highest general rating.
- A short summary
- A list of the pros and cons along with a quick pro and con comparison table.
- A notice when I have personally used a tablet and reviewed it elsewhere on the site.

The Huion Inspiroy H950P is an updated tablet produced by Huion. A company that began to pick up speed in electronics around the early 2000’s and has now been one of the prominent figures in Wacom alternatives. It has been updated to support tilt recognition and is one of the few affordable graphics tablets on the market with this technology. I had the privilege to use the H950P and review it. It has is amazingly responsive with 8192 pen pressure levels. This makes for a seamless workflow with smooth lines due to the pressure levels and smooth, yet not too smooth a surface of the graphics tablet. The tablet is medium size, but not one of the largest on the market. The installation was painless, but if you want to learn more you can read my full review here. Update:Huion has updated many of their tablets to work with Android 6.0 operating system and above. They recommend using their OTG adapter, but you can use any OTG adapter. It is an On-the-Go USB connector that allows you to connect a USB device into a device that uses Micro-USB or USB-C. In other words, it is an adapter that allows you to connect a USB device to a mobile device. Here are the two for Huion: USB to Micro USB and/or USB to USB-C or you can find others although Huion will not support those. Here are some other options for USB to Micro USB and USB to USB-C. You also need to ensure you get the most recent Huion drivers for the H950P. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support iPad or iPhone software. Also, full disclosure, I haven’t had the chance to test this with any of our Android devices and can’t say when I will have a chance.

The Inspiroy H1060P also had new tilt technology that mimics paint brushes, airbrushes, etc. Be aware this will work depending on the type of software you’re using. This is the same with the pressure sensitivity of the Inspiroy H1060P, but with any tablet really. The Inspiroy H1060P also has a large working space with a drawing area of 10 x 6.25 inches. Despite these perks, there are plenty of complaints about driver issues. Remember to check out my installation tips and visit Huion for the most recent drivers rather than use the software that arrives in the box. Getting these drivers from Huion should also help with any potential lack of tilt functionality as well.

The WH1409 V2 keeps the ability to connect wirelessly with its built-in 2.4 Ghz wireless receiver with about a 10-meter sensing range. This is perhaps, its strongest feature, but earlier models were known to have sporadic wireless issues. Newer models don’t seem to have this issue. While this is relatively new tilt recognition functionality in the Huion brand, it is something to consider for the price. The Q11K v2 also comes with a new battery-free pen which doesn’t need charging as well. Unfortunately, there is no eraser on the end of the stylus. The Q11K v2 also boasts wireless connectivity in order to give you a cable-free work environment. However, you may want to consider that with anything wireless there will come some troubleshooting headaches. - The Huion H420 White has two differences from the black H420. The white color and the lack of an upgrade that makes it compatible with Android devices. It has 4 customizable express keys and a battery-free pen. It’s one of two Parblo drawing tablets with this level of pressure sensitivity and the only difficulty people had was during its earlier release when it did not have supporting drivers for Mac. That has since been remedied and you should head over to Parblo to get the most updated drivers whether you are on Mac or PC. Other than that, there isn’t much to say about this small, affordable graphics tablet. It has great pressure sensitivity and highly accurate with pen strokes.

- However, the A610s is known to be very difficult to install. Despite the updated drivers, they don't seem to help with pressure sensitivity in graphics programs designed to recognize pressure sensitivity. In Windows 10 go to the start panel and right click then go to Control Panel. Either this or type Control panel in the search bar. Once there go to your Device Manager and go to Tablet Pointing Devices, right click on Update Driver Software. Once in there, choose to install updates from your computer and then tell it to let you pick from a list of drivers on the computer. Select HID-compliant pen or HID-compliant device and hit next. This should help.

Turcom is a company that makes an assortment of electronics ranging from graphics tablets to audio equipment. You can find their products on places like ebay and various other places on the internet. Given most of their tablets available online are older, you’ll come to realize they aren’t up-to-date with specifications. This is true for the TS-6608, but it is still one of Turcom’s most favorable graphics tablets for beginners to date.

Of course, since it’s an older tablet, you should beware since any drivers you get with it in shipping are going to be obsolete. You’ll have to definitely go to their site and download anything for current operating systems. So far Turcom only supports Windows and Mac. The Mac side doesn’t list any versions of Operating windows like the Windows side.
Turcomusa.com has also given the TS-6608 a new name, Pigma. They have also raised the price by about $40. It’s still the same cheap drawing tablet you’ll find on Amazon, ebay, and other places. The Pigma is generally affordable unless you go to Turcom and pay the extra $40.
In its days, the TS-6608/Pigma was a well-liked tablet. It offered great pressure sensitivity and was wonderful for people starting a transition from traditional pencil and paper to drawing with graphics tablets. Many considered it a professional alternative to the expensive Wacom tablets on the market at that time as well. Unfortunately, it might not stand up well to the current market standards of graphics table

- Installation: Can be difficult
- At the height of its time, the Turcom TS-6580 model was considered a quality alternative to Wacom tablets such as the Wacom Bamboo models and now obsolete Intuos products. I purchased one to try out and review for this site. Aside from installation woes, the tablet worked well. There was one other quirk which required me to boot up the driver's software each time I wanted to use it to ensure the pressure sensitivity would register.
- However, once the TS-6580 was installed, the driver software started, and your graphics software recognizing it, it was a joy to work with. Aside from the aforementioned issues, it worked well when you used it. Of course, we're talking about four-five years ago, so keep that in mind. This is seen in the TS-6610 graphics tablet. Generally, it’s a decent tablet, but new buyers will probably have some headaches given old driver software. Granted, people in recent years still utilize the device and have nice things to say about it. Unfortunately, the included software that comes with it, most of it for handwriting and marking up Word, are only compatible with older versions of Windows.
The Digibrush, TS-6610 itself isn’t a bad tablet for its time. It’s not a horrible tablet to start with today, either, but that requires you to get it working. Turcom had the tendency to send out horrible instructions with their products years ago. To be clear, I’ve used a Turcom tablet before and generally liked it. You can see that review above on the TS-6580.
